Ghiorgo Zafiropulo Sculptor & Philosopher
More than forty years passed without the great dancers that inspired Ghiorgo Zafiropulo's sculpture hearing anything about his work. We had the privilege of being able to contact Kay Mazzo (American School of Ballet) and Lawrence Rhodes (Juilliard School of Music) who both kindly accepted to write about the statues depicting themselves dancing and give their opinion on these works of art. Today most of the other dancers that served as models for Ghiorgo Zafiropulo have passed away, however, these sculptured, miniature, bronzes keep them alive and present. At last the artist's work is receiving due recognition and homage is paid to Ghiorgo Zafiropulo's works and the artist himself.
